Lesson 1 – DNA extraction from Wheat Cells. A short set of questions will be given to the students after the procedure to summarize the work.
Lesson 2 – DNA models using Candy. Students will make models of DNA using candy.
Lesson 3 – DNA to RNA (transcription) and RNA to Protein (decoding = translation). A bit of lecture then a continuation of the DNA sequence worksheet.
Science 8:
Lesson 1 – From the stomach to the large intestine. Summary and Review of the Digestive System.
Lessons 2 and 3 – Students will make a poster showing a flow chart of the digestive system. They will be given poster board to do so. A rubric (guidelines for evaluating the work) will be givemn and explained before the project is started.

Students are reminded to submit their signature slip on Thursday, August 11, and to come to class with all the necessary supplies. Planners will be given on Monday in HomeBase.
